In the main house, the large formal living room has cathedral ceilings, rustic wood beams, a window wall overlooking the patio and pool, large fireplace, and a comfortable sitting area with two sofas and several occasional tables and chairs.  Panoramic views abound from here and from the adjacent formal dining room seating twelve.  A smaller, comfortably appointed TV room with satellite TV, CNN, other English speaking channels, and high-speed Internet access provides a separate entertainment area. The interior of the house and the beautifully landscaped garden and patios offer many options for dining and relaxing. Enjoy breakfast on the back patio, a quick lunch in the cool of the country-style kitchen, an evening drink in the outdoor living room, and a family dinner on the large teak table overlooking the pool.

There is much to see and do in this scenic part of the Luberon, from exploration of the numerous picturesque villages to shopping at local markets and nearby vineyards and farms. Goult, just a few minutes away, is a beautifully-preserved perched village that features buildings made from the local ochre stone, labyrinthine streets, and several pleasant town squares shaded by 100+ year-old trees. The village center has an intriguing buttressed Romanesque church with clock tower and features a unique series of cultivated terraces, riddled with ancient olive trees, magnificent oaks, fruit trees and vegetable gardens set among restored stone walls.

Don’t miss a visit to the splendid Abbaye de Senanque dating from the 12th century, open to visitors and with an active community of Cistercian monks. Roussillon, about five miles away, is one of the most spectacular villages in the scenic Lubéron hills, famous for the brightly-hued façades of its buildings and impressive ochre cliffs and rock formations. Among the other lovely villages of the area are Gordes, Ménerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste and Ansouis.  Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, with its open air antiques market, and Lourmarin, known for the incandescent quality of its light, are also worth a visit. There is easy access to Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, with multiple hiking trails and an abundance of local flora and fauna. After enjoying all this activity, one can return to the haven of Villa Manon, to relax by the pool after a refreshing swim or for a quiet walk in the surrounding forest.

This was probably our best vacation ever. All of us enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Villa Manon to others and would go stay there again ourselves.
